The Lives And Times Of A Quilter's Cats

Random thoughts of three or four cats and I about the importance of wearing slippers if you happen to share your home with a quiltmaker who drops pins, and other similar and related nonsense, from fabric to gardening and of course, about the cats who inspire all this madness. En inglés y en español.

Something Old, Something New

This is Miss Luna Tuna, first born in the last generation of the most noble and ancient house of Tuna. Daisy, the alley cat, gave birth to four little ones between April 30th and May 1st. They've all survived, three girls and one boy. Luna is the biggest and the only one that has a name so far.
Shrillbert has the worst case of "kitten-itis". He can hear them calling their mother and is not happy at all about the prospect of four adorable little ones stealing his thunder :)

And now for something old, the Scottish Sampler is finally finished! No sooner I finished it, I couldn't help but start another cross stitch project, a Goode Huswife chart, Chester the Cat. Here they are:

Last, my first attempt at loading a video here. Twenty seconds is all my camera will allow me to do, so don't blink or you might miss it.

Red Ribbon

La Rosa De Los Vientos won second place at Seaport Quilters' Guild show last weekend in the hand quilted category. There were only eight hand quilted quilts, the rest were machine quilted (around 200 quilts were shown). Out of the hand pieced ones, four were large, mine was medium, two were small and there was a quilted pillow.
First place in the hand quilted category went to a beautiful appliqued poppy quilt, made by a male quilter. I took a few pictures of some of the ones I liked. Click here to see them.

And one more picture, my shasta daisies are in full bloom. I just love how cheery they are.
