Do Peanuts Grow On Trees?

While walking on Friday morning, I met this little fellow. Peanut and all, just couldn't resist the photo-op. Baby squirrels everywhere now, spring is here full force.

De paseo el viernes por la mañana, me encontré a este tipejo. Con su cacahuete en mano, no pude resistir pararme a hacerle una foto. Los bebés ardilla están por todas partes, la primavera nos llegó de golpe.

Some days, you wake up and realize how lucky you are. Yesterday was one of those. Though we are yet to knock out a twelve-foot mountain troll -I don't discount the possibility yet ;)- quilting brought us together. I met Rosa in an online quilting group. The talent and generosity of the women I've met online is hard to start to describe.

This is the last in a long line of gifts from my friends that mean the world to me, an amazing cross stitched sampler on linen, over a thread in my favorite color that Rosa made for me. She celebrated her blog-anniversary and I was the lucky winner in the drawing for a goodie. The mail-lady delivered it yesterday and I couldn't wait to rip the paper, open the parcel and see what was inside. I took it outside to take a picture, but it will stay in my living room so I can brag when people come to the house.

Algunos dias te levantas y te das cuenta de lo afortunada que eres. Ayer fue uno de esos dias. Aunque aún no hemos derribado juntas un troll de montaña de tres metros -y no dejo de pensar que algún día puede que lo hagamos- ;) lo que nos ha hecho terminar unidas ha sido el patch. Conocí a Rosa en un grupo de quilting en la web. El talento y la generosidad de las mujeres que he conocido a través de esto me dejan alucinada cada vez que pienso en ello. Sus regalos son parte de mis tesoros favoritos.

Este es el regalo que he recibido, un sampler de punto de cruz bordado en lino sobre un hilo en mi color favorito que me ha hecho Rosa. Celebró su blog-aniversario y fui la ganadora de su rifa (suertuda!). La cartera me trajo el paquete ayer y tardé como dos segundos en arrancar papel y abrir la caja para ver qué había dentro. Lo he sacado fuera para hacerle una foto sin el flash, pero estará en mi salón para darme el gusto de que lo vea todo el que venga a casa.

Yep, sure enough, someone in this house is NOT a happy cat! Pattern from http://www.wikihow.com/Crochet-a-Cat-Hat takes a few minutes to make and so far, hours of enjoyment (of course, for me, not so much for Shrillbert :) I simply couldn't resist.
